Holy Crap!

Not only can we barely afford gas and groceries today, but I just read this in today's paper:

State Farm, Florida's largest private property insurer, today asked the state for an average rate increase of 47.1 percent on homeowner policies.

Are you flipping kidding me!?! (And yup, State Farm is my current insurer, lovely!)

Go to www.fmap.org
You can put in your info and get offers on different homeowners ins, and can save a LOT of money. I got an offer of $600 less than what we currently pay, my mom got over 10 offers.

I saw that on the news this morning. They said it won't get approved because the number don't add up. My has more than tripled in 3 years.

You can also check with Florida Family Insurance. We are with them and I think our rate is reasonable. We've had to file a claim after the hurricanes and had no problems.
