Time Change

How are you doing with the new time change? My kids--not so good. They are up early and cranky by the end of the day. I used to love the end of Daylight Savings Time, but the kids are making me second guess myself. They are up at 4am! Yes, 4am--not kidding. Any advice?

I remember those days...my kids are a little older so it is much easier for them to change.

Poo for you! Though, I am loving it. Because I am a six to six-thirty a.m. kinda' Gal. So this time of year? I'm up drinking coffee by 5:30 and enjoying the peace and quiet and calm.

Dressed, faced painted, bloggie and other readings and planning for the day done -- I wake the family with the warm smells of breakfast!

I love the time change this time of year! Everyday gives me that "extra hour."

Happy November!

I'm not crazy about it. As soon as dinner's over, we might as well go to bed, it's too dark to go outside and play soccer, ride bikes, or take a walk.

I wish we did NOT have the time change, we are doing pretty good with the girls so far...

we are not doing so well either. (but then again we have all been sickly. boo.) I hate time change...before kids I LOVED falling back, but kids don't understand that you can "sleep in." Sleep in? What's that? HAHAHA!

p.s. put them on a tredmill for 30 minutes before bed. run them ragged. LOL! just kidding...kind of. ;)

Sometimes I give my boys an alarm clock in their room after they have been getting up way too early. That way if they wake up before the appointed time, they just have to put themselves back to sleep!! NO coming downstairs...

Er seems to be just fine, but Em is not handling it well at all. She is up so early and then fights to go to sleep at night.

I don't envy you one bit! That is WAY too early. Things are fine here. Hunter slept til nearly 8 before the time change so now he's up around 7. I hate the time change because I hate that it gets dark so early. We love to play outside in the evenings. I am loving it though because I am ready to get up a little earlier in the mornings so I get a little more done.

I started a week b4 the change. I kept all 3 of mine up for an extra 15 min each night for the week until the time changed. It worked too. We are not having any issues. I learned my lesson the hard way. 2 years ago I was up at 4 am too...and I don't like that! So that is my advice you should try it. Yes they might be cranky the first couple of nights, but it is worth it to sleep past 4!! Hope that helps...

Wow, one hour doesn't seem like it would do so much damage? Does that mean they used to get up at 5? My little guy hasn't flinched so I am not good on the advice. Good luck!!!
