Day 29: New Beautiful Frugal You

A box of Epsom Salt costs about $2. Next time you want a relaxing bath, add a cup or two to your water! It can draw toxins from your body and sedate the nervous system. Check out the many uses for Epsom salt:

Day 28: New Beautiful Frugal You

I don't know about you, but with all this cold weather, my hands are dry! I have found great relief in two products. One is Burt's Bees and the other is Neutrogena, both can be found at Walgreen's or Target.

More than Theme Parks in Orlando

Now I know you think all we have in Orlando are theme parks! Most of you come to town to hit Walt Disney World , Universal Orlando, or SeaWorld. But next time you are in town, take a break from the "tourist" activities, and head towards downtown Orlando to the Orlando Science Center!

I remember when the Orlando Science Center opened a few years back. I was actually purchased an annual membership because I loved it so much. And now they have a new exhibit that you will love, too. It's the Grossology Exhibit - Orlando Science Center!

Grossology uses animatronics and inventive exhibits to tell you everything you ever wanted to know about your body, including the good, the bad, and the crusty about runny noses, body odor, and much more. Along with being fun and engaging, Grossology is an oozy, slimy learning tool in disguise.

Guests of all ages can test their Grossology knowledge with multiple trivia activities, exploratory labs, puzzles and games.

Everyone will enjoy scaling the human skin rock wall, descending a 30-foot long slide that travels through a 3-D model of the digestive system, or encountering Nigel Nose-it-All - a character who will teach you what causes runny noses, sneezes and allergies.

It opens this Saturday, January 31, 2009…and I plan to be there! I hope you consider a visit next time you are in Orlando!

Super Bowl Is Coming! Time to Chow!

So it's almost time for the Super Bowl. And I will admit, more than the commercials, I love the GOOD EATING (hehe!). I like to make various dips (Queso & Buffalo Chicken Dip), where as Hubby likes his Wonderful Pistachios & pretzels. So, what's your favorite Super Bowl day snack?

Day 24: New Beautiful Frugal You

Probiotics is a term we hear on the news often these days. Basically, it's "good bacteria". They are important to regulate your digestive system, and perhaps even good for overall health.

Well for me, when my "gut" in in order, my skin is beautiful. So once or twice a month, I pick up a four pack of DanActive drinks or Activa yogurt. (I find coupons on a regular basis in the Sunday paper).

My kids also like to drink them. (Tom-Tom has eczema and some research says probiotics can help this skin condition). I also give my kids extra yogurt after a course of antibiotics (which seems to be often in our home!)

Another way to get probiotics on a regular basis is to pick up probiotic supplements at the Health Food Store or Pharmacy.

Um, Thanks Wal-Mart

Y'all know I love shopping at the Walmart Neighborhood Market near my home (the prices are the best in town and the cashiers are super friendly). Well, on Thursday I purchased some Dan Active Yogurt drinks. I drank one when I got home. I felt a little nauseated that day, and then threw up on Friday morning. WELL, I just noticed they were 9 days expired, yuck! I called the store this morning to tell the girl to check her shelf for other expired drinks. I hope no one else gets sick. UGH!!

Day 17: New Beautiful Frugal You

Do you know the power of Green Tea? Research says it is great in reversing sun damage and can even help you lose weight (by raising metabolism). SO DRINK UP! (I have a cup each afternoon.) Learn more here:

Disney Last Week

Last week, I tried to bring BOTH kids to Disney. Okay, I know I said in the past, I would not bring Tom-Tom back to Disney until he was older because he doesn't behave...well yea, I forgot! HE WAS HOLY TERROR. He didn't want to sit in the stroller, nor did he want the "leash". So we only stayed 2 or 3 hours, and then left...but I was able to get a couple of photos...

Day 8: New Beautiful Frugal You

Ah, Water! Yup, we all know the importance of drinking water. Experts say at least 8 cups a day, but recently I read that 5 or 6 cups of WATER is sufficient since we get extra water in meals and other drinks.

Here's my tip: when you awake in the morning, drink a glass of warm water with a squeeze of FRESH lemon juice (not bottled). Why you ask? Well, experts say lemons can cleanse and stimulate the liver and kidneys, help with digestion, the vitamin C can boost your immune system, and some even claim it can break down fat in the body.

Family Fun in Orlando, Otronicon

Do you love video games? Do I have something fun to tell you about!!! If you live in Central Florida, or plan to be on vacation in Orlando from January 16th to 20th 2009, you need to check out Otronicon at Orlando Science Center. In a nutshell, it is a video game tournament!

So what is the cost for this family outing? Daily admission to Otronicon is $17 for adults and $12 for children under age 12. And Orlando Science Center members receive free admission. They are also hosting special days for groups and/or schools who want to attend as a field trip from January 20 to January 23, 2009.

By the way, Otronicon stands for the (O)rlando Elec(Tron)ic (I)nteractive (Con)vention.

There will be things for the entire family: Video game tournaments with Rock Band, Wii Fitness, Guitar Hero and more. And on a few of the nights in the Dr. Phillips CineDome at the Orlando Science Center, they will offer classic live-action videogame movies such as War Games, Super Mario Brothers, and Tomb Radier! Now those are some movies I could watch. AWESOME!

Day 4: New Beautiful Frugal You

It's so simple, and yet many days I forget to take a daily vitamin. I'll admit, I don't eat many veggies, and I do indulge in fast food often, so I need a GOOD vitamin. I have tried many brands over the years, including brands from GNC and Whole Foods that costs me $30 a bottle! The one that I like the best is Centrum which you can find for about $9. Please remember to take your daily vitamin, especially during cold and flu season!

I also take an extra Vitamin C each day. Vitamin C is great for your immune system and for your skin. You can take vitamin C supplements, up to 500 to 1,000 milligrams of per day, according to the American Academy of Dermatology.

BONUS TIP: You can check today's Sunday paper for coupons or download coupons on the Centrum web site at:

I finally joined "Twitter" last week. Let me know if you are on there. You can find me here:

Yea, I love awards

Thank you Kati Sue for this new award, I feel touched!
Now, the hardest part, passing it on. There are so many great blogs out there and I hate to leave anyone out. So, this time I am picking the original blogs that I started reading last Spring. These few blogs ARE THE REASON I started blogging.
