White Denim is in!

White denim became a hot trend last spring, and it can still be seen in stores this season.

Ann Taylor Loft is promoting an array of white denim jeans, crop pants, shorts and skirts. With so many choices you can't go wrong.

Looking for a bigger bargain? Kohl's also has a great selection of white denim crop pants, most under $20. Try the Lee Downtown Denim Capris or the Candie's Zipper Denim Crop Pant.

For something a little more funky, try New York & Company's City Style White Denim Vest.

Of course wearing denim can be tricky. Here are a few tips:

• Remember, denim stretches so if you are undecided between two sizes, go with the smaller size.


• Look for lighter weight denim as summer approaches.


• Wear nude colored undergarments (if you accidentally sit in water you will appreciate this tip!)


• White denim looks especially great with a dark colored top.

I hate to be at home alone

This sounds crazy but I hate to be at home alone during the night. (I know I am a grown woman for god's sake!) In fact, I got so scared one night when my hubby was out of town, that I literally did NOT sleep at all. Not one wink. I laid there for hours, twisting and turning....and listening to every little noise, thinking someone was trying to get into my home. (Any of you like that!?)

I needed "peace of mind". I needed to know that someone would be there in the middle of the night to help me if needed. So hubby had a choice...fly my mom (yup his Mother In Law) to our home everytime he was called out of town or get me a security system. Guess which one he chose? ha.

Sunglasses for YOUR face shape

Every girl loves a great pair of sunglasses but do you know how to properly shop for the shape of your face?

Oversized sunglasses (pictured, Target $16.99), made popular by Paris Hilton, have been the trend for the past two years. They complement women who have an oval shaped face or a larger nose.

On the other hand, smaller glassses with a straight frame (think square) are a great match for those with a round shaped face.

Aviator sunglasses (or those with thin rims) can be worn by those with a triangular shaped face (larger forhead and narrow chin).

If you have a long narrow (oblong) face, make sure your eyewear frames cover the center of your face as much as possible.

No matter what your face shape, remember to always protect your eyes by purchasing shades that offer UV protection.

You CAN wear white before Memorial Day

It's okay to break the rules once in a while.

Wearing white before Memorial Day CAN be done--if done correctly. Just "play up" your white outfit with bold accessories or coordinating pieces.

For the weekend, you can't go wrong with the American Living Floral Eyelet Dress (JCP.com, $75). The A-line fit is sure to flatter all figures! For added flair, pair up this great dress with a Half Sleeve Crewneck Cardigan in Shocking Pink for a great Spring look (Ann Taylor Loft, $44.)

Hairbows for you little girl

Today's Outing: Ponce Inlet Lighthout

We took the kids to Ponce Inlet Lighthouse today. It is about 1.5 hours from Orlando. This is Florida's tallest lighthouse, located just south of Daytona Beach. (They were more amused by the neighboring playground, hehe! So we didn't pay the admission to climb up to the top).

We also stoped by the Marine Science Center for "Turtle Day". This is where they rehabilitate turtles and seabirds.

Then we hit the beach! I love Florida!

I love that you can drive and park on the beach ($5 fee) in Volusia County! It makes it so much easier to unpack everything with the kids.

Pick up a "fun" handbag this spring!

In the fall,a nice leather bag is a great accessory, but in the spring a fun, colorful tote is the way to go.

Easter Cookies (from Southern Living)

For the icing I just mixed 1 c. powdered sugar, 2 Tbsp Water, a dash of Lemon Juice and dye.

Simple and quick. Oh, and yummy too!
