Registering for Next Year (preschool)

I can't believe Princess Mimi starts Pre-K in the fall. But what is more insane is how early we have to register. School doesn't start until August or September, yet registration all around Orlando begins now! I haven't even had a chance to firm up my summer plans, near a less decide which teachers and days I want my kiddos to have in the fall, yikes.

We Got our Vots Renewed!

Last week, I had the idea to call my priest and ask if he would do a blessing with hubby and I for our anniversary. It was going to be one of the surprises I had in store for hubby. Well, when we got to Church, our wonderful priest (below) actually renewed our vows! It was so beautiful...lots of tears!Later in the evening (once the kids were with friends), hubby and I had dinner at the same place we had our wedding reception five years ago. I had a "surprise dessert" for him. I had called the cake shop and they recreated the top layer of our wedding cake, yummy!

Sleet and snow in Orlando...wow!

More ice pellets (sleet) than snow this morning, but enough to make the kids excited! Amazing to see this in Florida! We may get a little more "mix" today.

5 years ago: Bachelorette Party

Five years ago, I was waking up with a little bit of a hangover. I had my bachelorette party the night before! It was a fun night at Universal City Walk.We made up "porn star" names for the night.

I have never seen this forecast in Orlando...

See something strange in Orlando's forecast? Yup, SNOW! I have been here 13-1/2 years and have never seen snow flurries here. WOW. I do hate cold weather, but snow would be cool. I am sure it will melt before hitting the ground, but the kids would still enjoy it.

I read this great article on Prevention.com that I wanted to share with you. It's called 10 Secrets of Happy Women. Honestly, they all sound like "common sense" but I think at times we get busy and forget. Please take a second to read as a little reminder!

What happened to Global Warming?

Okay, Al Gore. Let's talk! I have been in Orlando for 14 years and have never seen it this cold. Seven straight days of freezing temps! BRR...

Citrus Bowl Parade (LSU!)

LSU is playing in the Citrus Bowl (or Capital One Bowl I guess!) this week. I brought the kids to the parade today. It was so much fun!

I love all the floats assembled from citrus. This was my favorite:

New Year, New You: Green Tea

If you want to make one small change or resolution this new year, I suggest you try green tea! It's full of antioxitdants (specially ECCG) -- and can reduce bad cholesterol and help with weight loss!

The February 2010 issued of Body + Soul says, "When possible, choose lose-leaf teas with whole or large pieces of leaves, rather than tea bags which tend to contain dust left over from higher-grade teas." The magazine also says, "When brewing green tea, use nearly boiling water; boiling water may leach away health compounds."
Want to learn more? WebMD has a great article about Green Tea Health Benefits.

(Honestly, I am not a tea drink...at all. It took me a few days to learn to like green tea but it has grown on me . Brew no onger than 2 or 3 minutes or you will get a bitter taste!)

Enjoy--and drink up!!
