Epcot's Food & Wine Fest 2010

On Sunday we took a ride over to Epcot's Food and Wine Fest. "Ireland" had great beer, Guinness!

Hubby grabbed a pretzel and Pilnser at Germany.

The crowd was thick but the lines moved fast. We didn't taste much since we had the kids with us, but two of my favorites were the crab cakes at "Hops and Barley" (by America) and the Seared Beef with Sweet Potato Puree at "South Africa" (near Germany).

Who is Duffy? New at Epcot!

Who is Duffy the Bear? He's the new character at Walt Disney World's Epcot. Mickey was given a teddy bear by Minnie before a sea voyage. She named him "Duffy" since Mickey was taking a duffle bag on the trip.
(You can learn more by reading these four story boards.)
Duffy is available for autographs; he is very huggable:
You can buy clothes for Duffy at various shops in Epcot, and color him at the "KidCot" stations. If you are familiar with Disney's "My First Disney Bear" (seen below), Duffy looks very similar. You can buy Duffy Rice Krispie treats...or Duffy chocolaty cups!
What do you think of Duffy?

Fall Festival at Preschool

My two Superheroes: Supergirl and Spiderman Princess had "curly" hair and makeup. She told me she felt like a "movie star"! So cute. My son doesn't like his mask so asked me to "spike" his hair.

Personalized Christmas Shirts

Last year, I got the kids adorable Christmas outfits (see post below). We all loved them, but honestly the kids only wore them twice. Once for pictures and once to church (when our family lit the advent candles). So this year we decided to go for a more casual look. So I ordered these two cute personalized shirts from: I know they will get worn quite a bit this season! And the price was super reasonable!

Christmas is a coming...Being Frugal at the Holidays!

I don't like to be "cheap", but I surely like to be "frugal" (and smart!). I already have a jump start on the make them more economical...

  • This year for Christmas, I have been saving "points" at various web sites to redeem for Christmas gifts. For example, I do online surveys often and I have saved all those points. I was able to redeem for FOUR one-year magazine subscriptions today. I also collect Disney Movie Reward points and redeemed those for DVDs today. I have ordered gifts for our parents and siblings!

  • All I have left is to shop for the kids and hubby! (And I redeemed our credit card points for gift cards today so I can start shopping for their toys soon!)

  • Instead of ordering "fancy" Christmas outfits this year for the kids, I decided to get them personalized Holiday tee shirts. Thank you for your help! (Honestly, the fancy outfits are not needed, since our Holidays end up being more casual). The kids can wear the cute shirts to their preschool's Christmas program, in our family holiday photo, and even on Christmas day!

  • I also sale listed last year's Christmas outfits on eBay. Again, the extra cash can be used for this year's gifts!

  • I have even scheduled our Family Portraits. I have traded event tickets with a friend who is a photographer. We will take them in mid-November. (And another freebie, as I redeemed Disney Moview Reward points for free cards at Snapfish!)

So, how are you doing with Holiday planning!?

Lowe's Build and Grow Clinic for Kids

Our refrigerator/freezer is going out. Over the past 3 or 4 days it's not cooling off as it should, so we headed to Lowe's this morning for a new side-by-side. While there, we realized they were holding a kid's "Build and Grow" clinic so let the kids jump in. They loved it!

Hh is for "hat"

The preschool is learning the letter "Hh" this week, and today was "hat day" at Princess's Preschool. Most kids wore baseball caps or visors, but leave it to my little fashionista to bring it up a notch. She chose her Jesse cowboy hat and matching red boots!

I'm heading back to work

For the past six months, I have been stay at home. I really enjoyed it, especially during the summer, being home with the kids. But now that preschool is back in session, I am ready to go back to work. I have found a great part-time job as an Office Manager at a local nonprofit group. The job is 20-hours a week and works perfect with the kids' schedule. I start on Monday; wish me luck!
