Not an "ideal" Easter

Unfortunately, my sweet girl spent most of Saturday afternoon, Saturday night and Easter Sunday in the bathroom! My poor girl has some sort of food poison or stomach flu!She didn't have much interest in her basket. However, my son really enjoyed finding all his goodies

and said, "This Easter Bunny is the best ever!" HOP book Well he didn't get to church so I have no family pictures to share.

My girl is slowly feeling better, but we are not sure how or when to make the 12 hour trip back from my parents home to our home!

Good Friday in South Louisiana

No one celebrates "Good Friday" like the folks in South Louisiana. Schools and businesses shut down to honor this religious holiday. Seafood boils are common, as well as dying Easter Eggs!

Disney's Port Orleans - French Quarter

I have stayed at several hotels at Disney, and I must say that Port Orleans - French Quarter is one of my favorites. It's a smaller sized resort (number of rooms), a great pool area, updated roms, and easy bus service. Fountain in lobby area.

Breakfast at WDW's Grand Floridian (1900 Park Fare)

Our family has been to several of the "character breakfasts" at Disney but this was our first time at Disney's Grand Floridian's 1900 Park Fare Breakast. We saw Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, The Mad Hatter, Pooh and Tigger! My kids really enjoyed it! The characters visited with us for a while (wasn't rushed at all and the buffet lines were open and not overly packed. (And the food was great too--Yogurt, fruit, granola, cold cereals, grits, oatmeal, bacon, omlets, biscuits, Mickey waffles and more!)

Magic Kingdom HAS a Barber shop!

Did you know that there is a barber shop on Main Street USA at WDW's Magic Kingdom. My son got a haircut there this past weekend! Don't you love the "sparkles" (confetti) at the end of his haircut!

New Toparies at EPCOT Garden and Flower Festival (2011)

We go to the EPCOT Garden and Flower Festival every year. I will admit that last year (2010 photos HERE) I was slightly disappointed. It seemed to be the same (character) toparies from years before, so this year (2011) I was pleasantly surprised with some of the new toparies (Toy Story 3, Lightening McQueen, and Winnie the Pooh & friends).

Tangled at WDW's Magic Kingdom

My kids love going to Disney World to see Characters (yes they love the characters more than the rides). Knowing that Rapunzel is "hot" right now, we got there early. The park opened at 8am, we arrived at 830am and was in line at 845. However, we were told that our group would be in the 10:15am group (worth the wait--in fact, while I waited in line, hubby was able to do three rides with the kiddos!)

Tangled starts with the kids gathering in the center to color while parents "que up" along the ramp for photos.

Rapunzel and Flynn Rider come out on stage, tak for a minute, and then jump down to the table with the kids!They actually sing and dance with the kids for several moments! Then the kids are asked to meet their parents (back in line) for photo opps! Recognize this little guy!?Our turn for a photo! Well worth the wait, in my opinion. Very interactive. Better than some of the other "character spots" where you take a quick picture and move along. This was an "experience" more than a photo opp! Parents and kids were happy with this new set up!
